Introduction

Dr. Eugene and Sherry May are the founders of Eagles Wings, Inc., a teaching and missions oriented ministry with the purpose of ministering to the Church and establishing and encouraging relationships between leaders around the world.

They believe that training the Church and its leadership in its gifts and callings is the quickest, most cost-effective and culturally sensitive way to fulfill the "great commission." Through conferences, crusades, and individual Church meetings they spark vision and spiritual encouragement.

Their meetings have historically resulted in changed lives, with many salvations, Holy Spirit baptisms, healings and miracles being manifested.

Eugene (Gene) and Sherry are recognized internationally for their apostolic, prophetic, teaching and music ministry. He is based in Tampa, Florida in the United States and is the president and founder of Eagles Wings, Inc., an international ministry with a vision for world harvest and equipping and challenging the Body of Christ.

Background

Gene and Sherry were born into a Christian homes but, as Gene often says, "God has no grand children." He received Jesus as Savior when he was five years of age and began singing in the church by age six. At fifteen, he was "called to preach" by a supernatural manifestation of God and began preaching in both adult and youth revivals among Baptists in the United States. He is a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, New Orleans, Louisiana and North Carolina College of Theology, Carolina Beach, North Carolina. He was ordained as a Southern Baptist minister in 1964 and is also ordained with Apostolic Resource Ministries.

Sherry received Jesus as Savior at the age of seven. At the age of fourteen, God spoke to her heart that she would marry a minister and she began preparing her heart for a life in ministry. Sherry and Gene were married in 1964 and that life of ministry became a reality. She is also an ordained minister with Apostolic Resource Ministries.

Gene and Sherry, received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1973 and began ministering by the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and Prophecy as well as in the teaching and preaching of the Word of God and being used in Christian music. In total, Gene has spent forty years in ministry, twenty three of which were spent in the pastorate and two years as the academic dean of a Christian Bible college.

In 1989, God took Gene and Sherry out of the pastoral ministry and they began traveling the world. Their ministry has taken them to Africa, Europe, North, South and Central America. Their prophetic and teaching ministry is being used of God to bring a sure word of stability into churches and leaders around the world. They also have the hearts of spiritual fathers and mothers to help raise up and equip young ministers so that they will be prepared to lead the Church into the future.

Family

Gene and Sherry have been married 43 years and have three children, two sons and a daughter. All of their children are active Christians and serving God in their churches. One son, Robert, is a mathematics professor and the Dean of the Science and Engineering Technologies Division at Virginia Highlands College, Abingdon, Virginia.  He and his wife, Connie live and Bristol, Virginia.  Their other son, Jonathan, is working on a Doctor's Degree in sociology at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina.  He and his wife, Candy, live in Garner, North Carolina.  Their daughter, Shelley, is living and working in Indianapolis, Indiana.
